A Driving and Walking Tour – to Ritchie’s Hut.
A drive to “8 mile” and then walk into Ritchie’s Hut, along the Howqua River. This is an iconic location in a most beautiful valley. The walking is not hard but reasonable fitness is expected. Be prepared to get your feet wet.
The walk starts near the area visited in Trip 4 “Sheep yard”. |

An easy drive to Sheep Yard Flat, with a bit of tour of a few of the interesting relics including:
Tunnel Bend; remains of water races and water wheels; A visit to a few huts – Come prepared to walk and have a picnic (Trout in the river). May get the opportunity to explore some tunnels so bring a torch!

Top Crossing |

An easy scramble along the rocky section of Top Crossing to Top Crossing Hut, driving up the semi dried river bed a part of the king river. |

Buller Mr Craig |

An easy day exploring Mount Buller; and then back via Craig’s Hut. This trip requires little 4wd and is mostly a tour. A walk to the Top of Mount Buller from the car park is optional as it the Cappuccino. |

Longer than most – this trip followed the Picturesque King River valley to Lake Cobbler, via the Razorback and many great views. Climb back near Mt Buller and back to Mansfield and camp. Many River Crossings (but expected to be very low) |

A fast Bitumen drive to Mt Stirling where we have a good climb to Craig’s Hut for a well deserved break. Then a slower trip back via Pineapple Flat. |

Some steep and challenging driving above the Jamieson River. Driving along high ridges with great views. The fording of the Jamieson River will not be deep but the exit can be slippery. May be a Ford of the Goulburn River depending on water levels. |
